PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for stripping a volatile organic material from an aqueous dispersion containing polymer particles efficiently and stably over a long period of time, and to provide an odorless polymer toner containing little amount of a residual polymerizable monomer, or the like, by the stripping treatment. SOLUTION: The method for stripping the volatile organic material from the aqueous dispersion containing polymer particles comprises a step 1 of blowing an inert gas into the aqueous dispersion; a step 2 of stripping the volatile organic material by exhausting a gas mixture containing the inert gas and the volatile organic material; a step 3 of leading the gas mixture to a gas separation membrane apparatus to separate the volatile organic material from the gas mixture and obtaining a refined inert gas; and a step 4 of utilizing the refined inert gas as the inert gas in the step 1.
