PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a high-power electric power steering device not giving a sense of incongruity in steering, which is capable of extensively reducing the influence of a motor inertial torque increased in association with upsizing of a motor. SOLUTION: This electric power steering device includes a steering assist control means 41 for calculating an assist base current value Ib based on steering torque T, and drives and controls the motor by a driving current based on the assist base current value Ib. It further includes a motor inertial torque compensation control means 50 executing motor inertial torque compensation control for compensating the inertial torque of the motor 20.
