PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a color picture tube, equipped with a focus mask forming an electron lens whose brightness can be improved, and which has only a single high-voltage supplying location in the tube. SOLUTION: A shadow mask 10 is equipped with a nearly rectangular aperture region 11 where a plurality of holes 13 are formed, and a non-aperture region 12 outside the aperture region 11. At least a first electrode and a second electrode 20 are disposed in the aperture region 11. The first electrode and the second electrode are electrically connected via a resistor 16 in the non-aperture region 12. By applying a voltage on one of the first and second electrodes, potentials different from each other are applied on the first and second electrodes, which form the electron lens.
