PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sheet shape measuring method and a device capable of performing online measurement of the sheet shape highly accurately even while conveying the sheet at high speed, and compacting the device furthermore than hitherto, and having no fear of fogging even when the sheet is a lithographic printing plate having a photosensitive layer. SOLUTION: When performing online measurement of the shape of the conveyed lithographic printing plate 10A by a sheet shape measuring device 16, at least both edge parts a, a in the whole width direction of the lithographic printing plate 10A conveyed by a conveyor device 13 are imaged continuously from the front end to the rear end in the conveyance direction of the lithographic printing plate 10A by CCD line sensors 18, 18, and the image imaged continuously is subjected to image processing by an image processing device 22, to thereby extract a lithographic printing plate image part corresponding to the lithographic printing plate 10A in the image, and thereby the shape of the lithographic printing plate 10A is determined from the extraction result.
