PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a refrigerator allowing a Stirling refrigerating machine and its heat carrier system and cold carrier system to be arranged making effective use of the height and depth of the refrigerator. SOLUTION: This Stirling refrigerator 1 is provided with the Stirling refrigerating machine 2, the loop heat carrier system 3 for carrying heat generated at a high temperature part 2a of the Stirling refrigerating machine 2, by a high temperature side secondary refrigerant, and a loop cold carrier system 4 for carrying cold generated at a low temperature part 2b of the Stirling refrigerating machine, by a low temperature side secondary refrigerant. The Stirling refrigerating machine 2 is disposed behind a partition part 7a provided in the height position of the middle part of the refrigerator 1 to partition a refrigerating chamber 12 from a freezing chamber 14. The heat carrier system 3 is disposed extending above the Stirling refrigerating machine 2, and the cold carrier system 4 is disposed extending below the Stirling refrigerating machine 2.
