Medical laboratory method for diagnosis of intrathecal immunoglobulin synthesis, is new. Free kappa or lambda immunoglobulin light chains in the cerebrospinal fluid of the patient are quantitatively demonstrated. Independent claims are also included for: (1) 14 methods for medical laboratory diagnosis based on the detection of free kappa or lambda immunoglobulin light chains; (2) a fast test method for use in cases of low intrathecal immunoglobulin synthesis; and (3) four examination methods using turbidimetry or nephelometry.
