PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To drastically reduce delays in drive signals supplied to field emission devices, crosstalks due to the drive signals, and the like. SOLUTION: An imaging apparatus 1 comprises a photoelectric conversion film 23 which receives the light incident on a principal surface on one side; a field emission layer 21 having an electron-emitting surface apart from and facing a principal surface on the other side of the photoelectric conversion film 23, and including a plurality of electron-emitting devices 45; and a drive layer 30 formed on a back side of the field emission layer 21 and including a plurality of device driving circuits 31, for supplying drive signals to each of back electrodes 42 of the plurality of electron-emitting devices 45.
