PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a new antibiotic or its pharmaceutically acceptable salt which is produced by bacteria, has antibacterial activity and is usable as a medicament for pharmaceuticals, animal drugs, marine products or agrohorticultural products, and to provide a method for production of the above compound and also an antibacterial agent containing the compound as an effective ingredient. SOLUTION: This new antibiotic, MMRC03-0001 is produced by a strain belonging to genus Sepedonium, and has an antibacterial activity against a gram-positive bacteria, particularly such as Micrococcus luteus ATCC9343. The antibiotic or its pharmaceutically acceptable salt can be used as a wide-range antibacterial agent for pharmaceuticals, animal drugs, marine products, agrohorticultural products or the like.
