PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide nanosize zeolite particles having particle sizes gathering near the average particle size and useful for a catalyst, an adsorbent, an ion exchanger, an optical material, film formation, etc. SOLUTION: The nanocrystal zeolite particles are composed of crystalline silica or a crystalline aluminosilicate and have an average particle size D of 50-200 nm, and at least 80% of the particles are distributed in the range of from 0.9D to 1.1D. In the method for producing the nanocrystal zeolite particles, an aqueous solution containing a composite sol composed of a quaternary alkylamine hydroxide and a zeolite-constituting component consisting of Si alone or Si and Al is added to a mixed solution composed of a surfactant and an organic solvent, thus yielding a microemulsion solution or emulsion solution composed of an aqueous phase, an oily phase, and the surfactant; and then this solution is subjected to a hydrothermal treatment at 50-200°C to form zeolite particles.
