The drive unit is assembled of two sprocket wheels (2), both permanently radial magnetized (5), and a chain (1). The sprockets (2) are both polarized either negative or positive (5) while the chain (1) is polarized in the opposite way. The chain (1) is made of a soft-magnetic material, which can be a metal alloy or an elastic synthetic material. The sprockets (2) can be assembled of a hard-magnetic inner area and an outer area made of a softer metal alloy. The chain tightening element (4) is also magnetized.
