<p>A sheet securing assembly (720) which allows selective adherence of a sheet to a mounting surface (772) is disclosed. A base layer (721) of the sheet has a front side (722) and an opposite back side (724). A pressure sensitive adhesive (756) has an exposed surface on the back side of the base layer (721) of the sheet, but the exposed surface is recessed. The thickness of one or more standoff elements (761) defined on the back side of the sheet which are higher than the exposed surface of the adhesive (756) is sufficient to prevent the adhesive (756) from contacting a surface (772) abutting the back side of the sheet in the absence of the application of a threshold level of pressure (P) against the front side of the sheet opposite the exposed surface of the adhesive.</p>
