<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus with which the number of installation of toner image forming means can be changed in compliance with a user's need. <P>SOLUTION: A color laser printer 10 is constituted with a printer frame 52 by attachable and detachable connection of printer frames 38Y, 38M, 38C and 38K supporting toner image forming means, such as photoreceptors 22.
