SECRETED AND TRANSMEMBRANE POLYPEPTIDES AND NUCLEIC ACIDS ENCODING THE SAME

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide new polypeptides, nucleic acid molecules encoding those polypeptides, host cells and vectors comprising those nucleic acid sequences, chimeric polypeptide molecules comprising polypeptides fused to heterologous polypeptide sequences, antibodies which bind to the polypeptides and methods for producing the polypeptides.

SOLUTION: The novel secreted and transmembrane polypeptide is produced by recombination of a gene containing a secretary signal peptide and a transmembrane domain. Relatedly described are the nucleic acid sequence, the host cells and vectors containing thereof, the chimeric polypeptide molecules fused to heterologous polypeptide sequences, related polypeptide sequences containing a binding antibody and methods of production. Also described is a method for detecting a ligand to the polypeptide.
