<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electrostatic capacity type sensor preventing insertion when closing a door by eliminating erroneous detection caused by disturbance such as sticking of waterdrops to perform precise detection when an object comes in proximity to or in contact with the sensor. <P>SOLUTION: This electrostatic capacity type sensor comprises a pair of detecting electrodes A, B provided for detecting the object by the difference of electrostatic capacity, and a shield electrode S surrounding the pair of detecting electrodes A, B. These electrodes are covered with an insulating member 5. When the object comes in contact with the sensor, the detecting electrode A moves and contacts the detecting electrode B. With this constitution, the insertion of the object is determined by comparing a difference value with a threshold value to prevent erroneous detection caused by disturbance, and the insertion in the non-contact state and contact state of the object is accurately detected. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI |
