<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a microcomputer with high mass productivity capable of loading different kinds of peripheral function circuits by rewriting a program. <P>SOLUTION: This microcomputer 1 comprises a plurality of ROM modules 12 each including a ROM 121 that is a mask ROM and a function circuit 122. The function circuit 122 operates according to a program written in the ROM 121. Different kinds of peripheral function operating programs are written to the plurality of ROMs 121, whereby the plurality of ROM modules 12 operate as different peripheral function circuits.
