PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a detection apparatus of a critical micellar concentration of a interfacial active agent by taking notice of an interfacial adsorption phenomenon and providing an optical transmission path with a detecting function and an information transmitting function so as to eliminate the weakness due to conventional defects, slow and troublesome measuring method. SOLUTION: The apparatus detects the critical micellar concentration of the interfacial active agent by adsorbing molecules in an interfacial active agent solution (3) to the surface of an optical waveguide (2) in the optical transmission path (1), observes a sensing region on the surface of the optical waveguide (2) in the optical transmission path (1) for making the interfacial active agent molecules adsorbed, and changes in the output light generated by an evanescent waves in the sensing region via the surface of the optical waveguide (2) through the optical transmission path (1), and detects discontinuous changing points of gradient where the output light intensity increases rapidly.
