PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prolong service life of a heat exchanger. SOLUTION: This heat exchanger is provided with a flow passage provided at the outer periphery of a heat generating body, a case constituting the flow passage, and a flow direction conversion means for converting direction of flow in the flow passage. Consequently, flow speed of water flowing in the flow passage is increased, surface temperature of the heat generating body is reduced, and amount of adhesion of scale deposited on the heat generating body is reduced to realize the compact and highly efficient heat exchanger having long service life.
