PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a tire tread having combined characteristics of both ribs and blocks. SOLUTION: The tread of a pneumatic tire is furnished with circumferential grooves 10, 12, 14, 16, and a rib 18 is formed outside the groove 10 while another 20 is formed between the grooves 10 and 12, and a row 22 of blocks is provided between the grooves 12 and 14, a row 24 of blocks is between the grooves 14 and 16, and a row 26 of blocks is outside the groove 16. Each block 28 in the row 24 is separated by a crosswise groove 30 from adjoining blocks 28, and the crosswise groove 30 is arranged aslant at 10-25 degs. to the circumferential groove 14.
