PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a microscope which has a spatial resolution greatly beyond a wavelength limit, being able to obtain a high resolution even by using the light in a visible range, and having a wide range of choice on observable objects. SOLUTION: The microscope comprises a part for sequentially generating groups of photons in the state of quantum-mechanical entanglement consisting two or more pieces of photons i (i is an integer from 1 to n, and n is an integer not less than 2), a lens for condensing the groups of the generated photons, a means for changing, by a micro amount, relative positions between the observation object position and the condensing position with respect to the observation object set in the vicinity of the condensing position whre photons are condensed by the lens, a detector for detecting the photons transmitted through the observation object or the photons scattered by the observation object, and a means which sets a gate time while changing the relative positions so that an optionally set percentage of the detected number of photons belongs to a single group of photons which are in the state of the quantum-mechanical entanglement, and which counts the number of photons n simultaneously detected by the detector within the gate time.
