PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To easily obtain an image with a shading taste, even if a photographing device is used with a deep object depth. SOLUTION: Two kinds of image data photographed in respective conditions with strobe emission and without strobe emission are entered into a shading taste creating processing unit 28, and any one of the data is selected as reference image data. A region extracting unit 41 divides the reference image data into object region image data and background region image data on the basis of two kinds of input image data to extract the data. A filter processing unit 44 applies filter processing having shading effect to any one of the object region image data and background region image data, and outputs shaded image data for composition resulted from the processing. An image compositing unit 45 composites the reference image data with the shaded image data for composition. This apparatus is applicable to a digital still camera. COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI |
