PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To discriminate a material characteristic by using a hybrid type X-ray detector. SOLUTION: This hybrid type X-ray detector 12 includes the first detectors 22, 24 absorbing the first part of an X-ray 16 and allowing transmission of the second part of the X-ray through the detectors, and the second detectors 22, 24 receiving the second part of the X-ray. A method for operating the hybrid type X-ray detector includes a step for receiving the X-ray by the first detectors, a step for absorbing the first part of the X-ray, a step for allowing transmission of the second part of the X-ray through the first detectors, and a step for receiving the second part of the X-ray by the second detectors.
