PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an inexpensive measuring device capable of measuring simply the effective diameter even in the case of a female screw having a small diameter. SOLUTION: This measuring gage for the effective diameter of a female screw is equipped with a gage part 14 having a taper shape having a diameter reduced gradually toward the tip side in the range of the taper angleαof 0.5°-2.5°, and provided with a taper male screw 16 having the effective diameter changing along the taper shape on the circumference. By screwing the gage part 14 with a female screw 22 provided on a measuring object 20, the effective diameter can be measured simply and finely based on the axial direction position (dimension A) where further screwing becomes impossible.
