The transfer and unfolding machine (1) for folded boxes or packets has a transfer arm (6) with suction cups (8) at each end. The suction cups engage folded boxes (2) held in a magazine (3) on a sloping axis. The transfer arm moves longitudinally in guides (20) on a motor-driven rotor. A pinion (5) driven by a second motor engages in a rack (23) on the transfer arm. As the arm rotates, the boxes are moved to the end of a conveyer belt (16) with upstanding vanes (15) which engage the sides of the boxes to complete the unfolding process.
