METHOD AND DEVICE FOR TREATING DIESEL EXHAUST GAS

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and device for treating diesel exhaust gas capable of providing high denitration performance in various temperature zone.

SOLUTION: A method comprising oxidizing part of nitrogen monoxide in an exhaust gas to nitrogen dioxide by passing part or whole of the exhaust gas through an oxidation catalyst 4 after removing particulate matter in the exhaust gas discharged from a diesel engine 1 with a filter 3, and reducing and removing nitrogen oxide in the exhaust gas by passing the exhaust gas through a denitration catalyst 11 after injecting ammonia or ammonia precursor 10 into the exhaust gas. Quantity of the exhaust gas passing through the oxidation catalyst 4 is controlled to keep mole ratio of nitrogen oxide to carbon dioxide in the exhaust gas before passing through the denitration catalyst 11 reversibly at 1:1.
