<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a line head constituted to have no unevenness in the luminance in the horizontal scanning direction, and to provide an image forming apparatus using the same. <P>SOLUTION: A light emitting element line 1, a control circuit 15 and a moisture preventing plate 20 are set on a substrate 30 of the line head. Moreover, power supply points 6a and 6b of the power source (VDD) side, and power supply points 7a and 7b of the grounding (GND) side are set at both ends of the line and connected to external power supply lines 17a and 17b. Each light emitting element Ea is segmented to three blocks of A, B and C, and a lead part 28x common to each block is connected to a second power supply line 3. A notch 25 is formed at the common lead part 28x, whereby resistance values of lead parts 28 are made different.
