PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an apparatus for washing, bleaching and filtering papermaking raw material pulp in which a sealing property of a space between a water-discharging metallic material and a cylinder is enhanced and the concentration of pulp fiber can be heightened. SOLUTION: The filtering apparatus 1 comprises a cylinder 21 having a filter 39 provided on the surface and rotating in a liquid tank, a means for sucking water through the filter 39 from pulp slurry deposited on the filter 39 and a non-rotatably fixed water-discharging metallic material 50 communicating with the interior of the cylinder 21 and used for recovering the sucked water (white water) and feeding the water to a white water tank. Warm water heated to 50-70°C through a heat exchanger 911 is fed to the space between the cylinder 21 and the water-discharging metallic material 50 by a seal water feeding means 80. The water-discharging metallic material 50 and the cylinder 21 are thermally expanded and the space between the metallic material 50 and the cylinder 21 are made narrow and the sealing property is improved by warming the temperature of the seal water to 50-70°C.
