PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a shading protective sheet for civil engineering manufacturable at low cost, with superior laying work efficiency, outdoor durability, strengths and compression resistance, causing no peeling of a joint face during use after construction, having excellent appearance, and suitably applicable to, in particular, a protective layer for a waterproof layer. SOLUTION: This shading protective sheet for civil engineering is formed by laminating 100-500 g/m<SP>2</SP>of an olefin resin film layer 1 by melting extrusion using a T die. The film layer 1 is formed by kneading pigment with an ultraviolet ray absorbing agent mixed therein, and applying the sneaked mixture to one face of polyester short fiber nonwoven fabric 2 needle punch-treated, with an average fiber size of 5-30 dtex, a thickness of 5-15 mm and a Metsuke (fabric weight unit) of 1,000-2,000 g/m<SP>2</SP>. On the one face of polyester short fiber nonwoven fabric, the olefin resin film layer is laminated from one end part in the width direction to the range of 10-15 cm inward from the other end part.
