PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an apparatus and a method capable of easily separating blood components. SOLUTION: The apparatus (10) is equipped with a body (12) for storing the blood to be separated and a pair of electrode plates (14) arranged adjacent to walls (12a) opposing to each other in the body, separates the blood to a first component and a second component by electrolyzing the blood by turning on the electrode plates, and furthermore separates respective first component and second component by difference in specific gravity.
