PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a light source device for endoscopes which is constituted of the fewer number of parts, has a simple structure, and is easily mounted on a lens holder for supporting a condenser lens for a main light source while the positional precision of the auxiliary light source is increased. SOLUTION: The light source device for endoscopes has the auxiliary light source 40 turned on when the main light source is turned off due to a failure, moves the condenser lenses L1, L2 for the main light source to a position in which outgoing beams from the main light source are condensed on an incident end plane 15a of an optical guiding fiber 15 when the main light source is turned on, and moves the auxiliary light source 40 to oppose to the incident end plane 15a when the main light source is turned off due to the failure. The single lens holder 33 turnable around a shaft M1 has a penetrating hole for holding the condenser lens for the main light source concentrically about the shaft and a fixing surface formed for fixing the auxiliary light source 40, and radiating fins 33b are formed integrally with the lens holder 33 on the reverse side of the fixing surface.
