DEVICE, METHOD AND PROGRAM FOR ESTIMATING MOVING SPEED

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide technologies permitting accurate estimation of the speed with a simple structure and with a very small burden applied to a subject. SOLUTION: The device has a structure comprising a vertical swinging component detector 4 for detecting the distribution of the strength of frequency of the swinging motion component in the vertical direction of the swinging motion generated in the subject 1 when moving, and a speed estimating part 5 for estimating the moving speed of the subject 1 based on the detected distribution of the strength of frequency. The speed estimating part 5 has a structure comprising an extraction part 8 for extracting a predetermined component of frequency from the distribution of the strength of frequency, an energy deriving part 9 for deriving a signal energy in the predetermined component of frequency extracted by the extraction part 8, and a speed calculating part 10 for deriving an estimated speed by a predetermined calculation using the derived signal energy.
