PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a spongy body consisting of apatite carbonate and collagen, having holes with large hole diameters and easily allowing the invasion of living body cells, a cell culture medium and a method for producing them. SOLUTION: The cell culture medium obtained by filling the spongy body consisting of the conjugate material of the apatite carbonate and acidic collagen in a cylindrical frame having many holes at the side surface of the cylindrical part is provided by adding an alkaline solution to an acidic collagen solution to neutralize it, mixing the apatite carbonate, further adding an organic solvent, agitating to obtain gel, filling the gel in the cylindrical frame, having penetrated holes having 50-1,000μm hole diameters at the side surface of the cylindrical part, wherein the area of the penetrated holes having 50-1,000μm hole diameters occupy >0 and≤80 % of the side surface area of the cylindrical part, and freeze-drying the filled product under vacuum.
