The standard wheelchair assembled of a frame with a seat part and a backrest is equipped with two large wheels and two swivel mounted small front wheels facilitating the steering of the device. The new design of a wheelchair is additionally fitted with a pair of swivel mounted small wheels positioned below the large wheels in order to be used in particular indoors for quick reversing and sideward moving. The wheels can be retracted when not in use.
