ENDOSCOPE SYSTEM

An endoscope for imaging the inside of a digestive organ with no dead area and preventing the medical doctor from overlooking a seat of disease. At the end (24) of the endoscope, an omnidirectional camera (32), an illuminator (34), forceps (36), and a cleaning water jet orifice (38) are provided. The omnidirectional camera (32) is used for imaging the inside of a digestive organ and can capture an image with a 360-degree field of vision. A probe-type endoscope (20) has a receiver (26) composed of crossed coils, and the receiver (26) is used for deducing the position and posture of the probe-type endoscope (20). The image captured by the omnidirectional camera (32) is displayed on a display section (28) of an image processing device (22) connected to the probe-type endoscope (20). The image processing device subjects images captured by the omnidirectional camera (32) to a video mosaicing processing to create a panoramic image inside the digestive organ.
