摘要 <p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and an apparatus for electrically heating glass, in which the erosion of a molybdenum electrode is prevented without decreasing antimony concentration. <P>SOLUTION: A plurality of molybdenum electrodes 22 are positioned in the bottom part of a melting vessel 10. The molybdenum electrodes 22 are connected to an AC power source 24, and AC power is applied to the electrodes 22. Further DC current is applied to the molybdenum electrode 22 as a negative electrode so that the potential difference between the molybdenum electrode 22 and an counter electrode 26 becomes <-1.8 V based on a reference electrode. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI</p>
