PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for laser-irradiation arc welding, in which an alarm signal is output when a protective glass for protecting a condenser-lens optical system is brought into an abnormal state that the glass is stained with fumes and spatters generated in welding.
SOLUTION: In a method for laser-irradiation arc welding, an object to be welded is irradiated with a laser beam from a laser torch 16 having a condenser-lens optical system 12 for condensing a laser beam and having a protective lens for protecting the system 12, and the object is simultaneously subjected to consumable-electrode gas-shielded arc welding. The method is carried out as follows: a reflection mirror 17, which has been placed in a position not hindering welding during welding, is moved to the laser beam irradiation part after completion of the welding; then a laser beam emitted from a laser diode is reflected on the reflection mirror 17 to pass through the protective glass; the laser beam that has passed through is detected by a photodetector; and, when the detected value is not larger than a predetermined value, judging that the protective glass is in an abnormal state that the glass has been stained during the welding, the photodetector outputs an alarm signal.
COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI
|
