PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an axial piston pump capable of reducing a space. SOLUTION: A holding pin 44 prevents slipping-out of a cage 42 from a guide 41 of a cradle bearing 27 for tiltably holding a circular arc-shaped part 39 of a swash plate 26, and is engaged with the cage 42 by projecting from a slider 51 rotatably journaled to the swash plate 26. A mechanism for preventing the slipping-out of the cage 42 can be simplified. The space can be reduced without requiring to separately take a space for installing the holding pin 44 in a casing or a space for engaging the holding pin 44 with the swash plate 26.
