PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a keyboard with enhanced security capable of preventing read of a right password even in case that a password is read when an operator operates keys of the keyboard to input the password. SOLUTION: In the keyboard 1 with mapping conversion function, a keyboard controller 10 comprises a key scan encode part 101, and a key map storage/conversion part 102 having a key map for mapping key information inputted from a keyboard switch matrix 11. At the time of inputting a password for authentication, a key map is selected by an inputted local hot key and a selection key map code, the code of the input password is mapped with the selected key map, outputted to an external interface as a code different from the input code, and collated with a code mapped with the key map, which is preliminarily registered in a master device to perform the authentication.
