<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a device for adjusting gap between a vehicle and a platform which closes the gap between the platform and the vehicle, and at the same time, connects a step between the step surface of the vehicle and the upper surface of the platform by a smooth slope, and also, shortens the construction period by facilitating the installation, and has a low cost. <P>SOLUTION: This gap adjusting device is set on the platform 80, and is used for adjusting the gap between the vehicle and the platform 80. The gap adjusting device is provided with a step plate 17 one end of which is rotatably supported by a machine frame 2 being set on the platform 80, and the other end of which is swung in the vertical direction in response to the floor position of the vehicle to adjust the gap between the vehicle and the platform 80.
