PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image display device, wherein generation of discharge and deviation of tracks of electron beams are restrained, and reliability and quality of display are improved. SOLUTION: A spacer structure 22 is arranged between a first substrate 10, on which a fluorescent screen is formed, and a second substrate 12, on which a plurality of electron emission sources 18 are formed. The spacer structure facing the first and second substrate is composed of a plate-shaped supporting base plate 24, on which a plurality of electron beam passing holes 26 facing respective electron emission sources, and a plurality of spacers 30a, 30b set upright on the surface of the supporting base plate. The surface of the supporting base plate is coated by a coating layer 28 containing a material with a secondary electron emission coefficient of 0.4 to 2.0. COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI
