PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an article pickup device of a vending machine such that a detached flapper member never falls even if an external door is opened or closed to store the detached flapper member. SOLUTION: The article pickup device 20 of the vending machine is equipped with an article receiving box 21 for receiving an article W carried out of the machine opposite an article pickup opening 14 formed in the front and the flapper member 24 which is detachably arranged on a ceiling plate 212 constituting the article receiving box 21; and the article receiving box 21 is equipped with a support piece 28 which supports the flapper member 24 while restricting its movement when the flapper member 24 detached from the ceiling plate 212 is stored.
