PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for maintaining an agricultural land, excellent in maintainability of the environment and capable of restoring to the agricultural land fertile grains of flowed out soil to prevent ruin of the soil of the agricultural land, distributing raindrop impact which affects the soil to suppress raindrop erosion, increasing water absorbency and water permeability and tolerance against facial erosion to prevent water erosion, further preventing fertile soil from flowing into a river as muddy water and preventing the quality of water of the river from worsening caused by environmental burden increased by flow of muddy water into a downriver area. SOLUTION: This method for maintaining the agricultural land comprises using a filtration device arranged on the downriver of the agricultural land, and has a structure of scattering to the agricultural land a granular porous filtration material held in the filtration device.
