PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a plant cultivation container suitable for plant growth, excellent in water retainability when cultivating plants, and so designed that aboveground stem parts (leaves and stems) are easy to receive light and a root part is not prevented from receiving the light so as not to be inhibited from growing: and to provide a plant cultivation method using the container. SOLUTION: The plant cultivation container preferably comprise such a container that the upper part of a container wall is made transparent; and other parts of the container wall are opaque. It is preferable that the opaque wall is formed so as to have a height up to 1/4-3/4 from the bottom of the container.
