<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a printing device for which the selection of the kind of a code that matches the cryptogram intensity a user wants to use and the setting of the details of encryption/decryption can be easily and optionally performed. <P>SOLUTION: The sending and receiving control section 24 of the printing device 2 receives information of a plurality of code processing means from a PC and saves in a higher-level device code processing means list storage section 33 of a RAM 21 when a code processing means is determined in a code printing and communication performed between the PC not illustrated and a printing device 2. The list of code processing means used in the printing device 2 is read from the code processing means list storage section 31 in a flush memory 23, the list of code processing means of the printing device 2 is compared with the list of the higher-level device code processing means. The code processing means determination section 32 decides to use the code processing means for communication if a matching code processing means is available. Consequently since the PC sends printing data encrypted by the code processing means informed to the sending and receiving control section 24, a printing mechanism control section 22 performs printing on the basis of printing data decrypted by the encryption/decryption processing section 34. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI |
