<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suppress to the minimum power consumption required to appropriately maintain conductivity of a cooling medium. <P>SOLUTION: A fuel cell system comprises: a fuel cell 12 cooled by the cooling medium; a conductivity sensor 24 detecting the conductivity of the cooling medium to reduce the conductivity of the cooling medium; an operation control means detecting by means of the sensor 24 at every proscribed time interval; a conductivity prediction means predicting the conductivity of the cooling medium after elapse of an arbitrary time; and a time interval varying means lengthening a time interval the greater for detection by the sensor 24 the smaller is the conductivity predicted by the prediction means. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI |
