METHOD FOR PRODUCING ALKOXYALKYL GROUP-CONTAINING QUATERNARY AMMONIUM SALT

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for simply producing an alkoxyalkyl group-containing quaternary ammonium salt in a high yield by using a readily available raw material.

SOLUTION: The method for producing the alkoxyalkyl group-containing the quaternary ammonium salt comprises reacting a hydroxyalkyl group-containing tertiary amine represented by general formula (1) (wherein R1and R2are each independently a 1-4C alkyl group or A-OH and R1and R2together may form a ring structure; A is an alkylene chain or an oxyalkylene chain) with an alkyl halide ≥2 equivalent to the hydroxyalkyl group-containing tertiary amine and an alkali metal hydride at least equivalent to the hydroxyalkyl group-containing tertiary amine in an aprotic solvent.
