<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a weather strip for an automobile capable of preventing a mounting base part from levitating from a retainer to result in slipping off even if a hollow seal part of the weather strip collides with an opening edge B of a center pillar etc. when the door is to be closed. <P>SOLUTION: The weather strip 1 is for the automobile whose door D is in hinge coupling in the front part, and is fitted to the retainer 4 formed at the peripheral edge of the door D.
