PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a video receiving and display apparatus in which contents of a recorded program are avoided from being known by viewing a broadcasted program by zapping or the like before or just during viewing the recorded contents. SOLUTION: A home server 10 receives a content video image from a content transmission server 1 that transmits contents including video images, via a network 2. An indexing section 12 extracts an index from contents to be received, and a delay section 13 delays content data. While the content data are delayed by the delay section 13, a similarity decision section 16 decides recording reservation information which is acquired when operating recording from an operation input section 14, and the index. If similarity thereof is high, a caution message is synthesized with contents under broadcasting by a composition section 18, and the synthesized contents are displayed by a display section 19.
