PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fixing apparatus to be rotated at the same rotating torque as in actual use at an early stage and effectively suppressing increase in the rotating torque. SOLUTION: The fixing apparatus 10 is provided with a heat roller 12 incorporating a plurality of linear heat sources 11a, 11b and 11c, a pressure roller 13 brought into a pressurized contact with an outer periphery surface of the heat roller 12 and a cleaning member 16 brought into contact with the heat roller 12 and cleaning the heat roller 12. Furthermore, a heating means 23 is provided to set the temperature of a contact part N between the heat roller 12 and the cleaning member 16 to be the melting temperature of toner or higher.
