PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sound insulating wall capable of being easily formed and preventing leakage of sound between upper and lower sound insulating plates even if a plurality of steps of sound insulating plates are overlapped and stacked in the vertical direction. SOLUTION: In this sound insulating wall formed by stretching left and right lateral mounting members 3 between support columns 2 erected at a predetermined interval and attaching the sound insulating plates to the support columns 2 and the left and right lateral mounting members 3, the sound insulating plates are overlapped and stacked at a plurality of steps in the vertical direction, and the lower side sound insulating plate 11 and the upper side sound insulating plate 12 are fitted into the left and right lateral mounting members 3 to prevent leakage of sound in joints in the vertical direction. Consequently, by fitting the sound insulating plates into the left and right lateral mounting members 3, the sound insulating wall can be easily formed, and a clearance caused between the sound insulating plates 11 and 12 in the vertical direction is reduced by the sound insulating plates which are fitted to eliminate possibility of leakage of sound.
