<p>The invention relates to compositions and methods for the treatment of intestinal pathologies. The invention also relates to compositions and methods which can be used to regulate the paracellular permeability of the intestinal epithelium. The inventive compositions and methods are based on the use of protease inhibitors which modulate the opening of the tight junctions of the intestinal epithelium. The invention can be used for preventive treatment or curative treatment of varied pathologies such as digestive functional disorders (DFD) and, in particular, intestinal functional disorders (IFD) resulting in hyperalgesia and irritable bowel syndrome (IBS) in mammals, particularly humans.</p> |
